The Marine Protected Area of Tavolara Punta Coda Cavallo extends over the municipal territories of Olbia, Loiri Porto San Paolo and San Teodoro. The MPA boasts the presence of 3 islands: Tavolara with its small kingdom, Molara with its natural pools and Molarotto an full reserve area, as well as a multitude of reefs and islets. Also included in the territory is a stretch of coastline rich in bays, coves and famous beaches.
The Sailing San Paolo fleet of vintage Lateen sailboats consists of traditional boats that were used at Tavolara to transport lime. They are boats that originated in this very area, made entirely of wood. The sailing ships sail slowly between the islands and the coast and, thanks to their shallow draught, can approach the hidden bays of the Golden Coast.
