Tavolara is an island of about 6 km² located in north-eastern Sardinia, in the province of Sassari.
It is the main island of the Area Marina Protetta Tavolara Punta Coda Cavallo, part of the municipality of Olbia, Loiri Porto San Paolo and San Teodoro.
It is an island rich in stories and legends. The western part of the island has a very small village, the cemetery of the kings of Tavolara, as well as beaches of rare beauty. The eastern portion of the island is currently a military base.
